The biggest financial priority that a parent typically faces - apart from his retirement nest egg, is his children's university education.

Numbers. Say for e.g. as written in the article, a non-laboratory course in a local uninversity costing around S$65k can easily inflate to S$130k in 20yrs time. One of the most wonderful gift a parent can give to his/her child would be a wonderful education, and having not to worry about the university fee is definitely a bonus.
